Idan's team has been cursed from the start. With their run of luck I'd be grim too...

[Hopefully this has been submitted on BBmanager (by me) properly.]

OverCheesers just beat SuchDodge 3-1 - benefiting from TWO blitzes in the first half, going into the second half 2-0 up thanks to them, more or less.

SuchDodge kicked off in the second half, the OverCheesers broke through their lines with overwhelming force, and then inexplicably didn't use a reroll when the gutter runner failed the pick up deep in the Skaven half by the right sideline. The Amazons rushed in, getting three women around the ball and picking it up - things were looking grim for me as I only had a linerat, thrower, and the failure of a gutter runner within range, and the Amazons were within one turn's movement of scoring! Miraculously though, the Skaven knocked back a linewoman, leaving nowhere except off the pitch for the Amazon carrying the ball to go when the thrower blocked her. The ball got thrown into the middle of the Skaven end of the pitch, the gutter runner dodged away from the mini-scrum on the right-hand side, didn't fail the pick-up, scampered away to nearly the left hand sideline, and launched a long bomb to the gutter runner down the other end, who ran off and touchdowned!

Then the rats kicked off to the women, who slowly caged their way down the pitch eventually breaking out with 3 turns left for a consolation score. The rats had two turns left to try for a fourth, but twice failed a simple hand off, or pick up, I can't remember which.

Anyway, it was a good game, although Identity didn't have very good luck with the blitzes on kickoff twice in a row, which more or less decided the match.

(edit for remembering details)

This is the furthest I have seen the ball travel in a single turn yet. The gutter runner ran the width of the pitch, and then threw the ball a third of the length of the pitch to another gutter runner who ran the final third to touch down. It was a good game, and I felt completely out-manoeuvred the entire time. Which I guess is the whole point of Skaven...

But at least you're pretty ;)

Those two Blitzes are horrible - there's nothing much you can do when a team with 9 moving Ag4 freaks can run in and grab the ball they just kicked off before it hits the ground.

Hopefully I uploaded the game on BBmanager properly - have to rush due to baby, but a 20/20 game as the OverCheesers beat the Everglade Wanderers 3-2. Nice game.

I think I had bad - but not terrible luck. I've had worse. Even so...
- twice failing a GFI to score (one of those after I had to re-roll just to pick the ball up in the first place)
- starting my turn with BD/BD/AD from my treeman - insta-turn over (main reason I went behind, it was 2-2 and I was receiving) (though as a consolation, the treeman did injure the linerat & thus level up)
- 2nd half especially, the Skaven went on a bashing rampage as most blocks came off, I was 4 players down for the last drive
- Fumbling a pass when I had a chance to go most of the length of the field (he scored next turn)

It was a fun game though, full of ups and downs.

Yes, you did have some amusingly bad luck with the GFIs to score, although I imagine it wasn't amusing for you :)

That treeman fail cost you the game at 2-2, if we ignore the other bad luck, but then I had to sack the rat he fell on as he fractured its skull... I think I've had to get rid of 3 line rats and a storm vermin in 3 games, due to three -ST and one -AV. Injury rolls seems to be my area of bad luck expertise - I also have a linerat with -AG. Five stats down in three games!

Lowlight for me was when I wanted to move a linerat to assist a storm vermin to blitz a hole in your line, but went a bit wrong and instead moved the gutter runner with the ball into a position next to your treeman where he couldn't assist anyway... I think all I needed was a pushback, a dodge and a handoff to score, but instead I did a big whoops.

Still, the TDs were all quite good I thought, nice running and passing.

My wood elves beat LtSpinx's dwarves 4-1. The scoreline flattered me somewhat thanks to 2 late touchdowns as the dwarves tried some crazy stuff to try and get back in it. All credit to them for trying.

Image
(NB I gained 100 yards from running, not 10 - is three figures really that rare for it not to be catered for by the image generator?!)

On the first turn the first 3 blocks by the dwarves all ended in KO's, and I thought it was going to be another game of stupid dice rolls. However those fears did not come to pass and the dice ended up being respectably random overall.

It was a game full of a) dwarves hitting elves, and b) high-risk exciting play by both side. We had 33 GFI rolls between us, 12 attempted passes (only 4 succeeded), 17 ball pick-ups attempted but only 20 dodge rolls attempted - the field was just so spread out there was rarely a need for dodging. Spinx continued his focus on my treeman which helped all this space open up - the treeman lived to fight another day, and indeed stayed standing a lot, his new Guard skill coming in very handy for his team-mates.

Unfortunately the 1 pass the dwarves pulled off was another huge one, meaning the league's top passes in terms of yards is still that pesky dwarf :p

My team continued their good luck with injuries - Spinx rolled for 15 injury rolls on me which resulted in 8 stunned, 6 KO's but only one injury (misses next match). I don't know what my elves get fed but they sure know how to bounce back from being clobbered. I got 2 level-ups, taking wrestle on a lineman and side step on a wardancer, and I bought a third re-roll with my winnings. I only have 3 players who haven't leveled up now.  8)

I forgot to mention that Spinx had 12 players on the pitch at times. Perhaps it was compensating for me having 10? :p

SuchDodge beat the Saur'd of Justice 1-0, as the Amazons managed to Badly Hurt two Sauri in their first two turns.

That set the tone for the rest of the game really. After the Amazons scored in their fourth turn, the Lizardmen kept the ball just outside of their touchline and farmed SPPs. Unwilling to leave any gaps in their defense, SuchDodge tried to keep clear of the bashing lizards. Most hits that did land were simply dodged.

The second half saw the Saur'd of Justice plunging a long, caged drive down one side of the pitch. However, a lack of skills meant that the lizard police were mostly just pushing the defenders away. Having made a reasonable gap in the Amazon defense, a Skink made run for the touch line but tripped leaving the only tackle zone it had to pass through. The fallen lizard sent the ball scattering just two paces from the Amazon touch line and scrap ensued for possession of the ball. A skink manages to pick up the ball, but unfortunately rolls a Both Down on a blitz and the ball gets picked up by the Amazons. A short pass and run moves the ball back into the Saur'd's half, but without enough turns remaining to score a second touch-down.

Thanks for the game notjarvis!

Well played. ID

Notes:

Strangely - I was absolutely certain I bought a Kroxigor after my last game - but apparently it never went through so I was shocked to see no Kroxigor when we started.

I had horrible luck with the block dice (From 83 Block dice only 8 of them were good hits - and you need "Pow" hits against Amazon due to their dodge skillz)

2 Injuries and a KO in the first 3 turns to my Saurus's meant I was really low on strength. My KOd saurus didn't recover, so I was stuck with 8 pretty much all game - and 5 of them were weakling skinks.

I was hoping the knocked out Saurus would return at some point but no such luck

I was fairly shocked I got so close to the line in the second half to be honest with such a weak team

Now this seasons Over for me -  my Chaos team can return next season.

3-2 to Me vs Idan. Went 3-1 up and he got a consolation on the last turn. Really good game.
4-0 to our division. Thanks for being fodder for us, Badger league! :p

I seemed to only be able to submit it to Fellentos league on BBManager, I hope this doesn't screw things up.

Apologies again for the lack of long passes, but my passer has Accurate now so there should be more long throws coming to a game near you. My team value is now a bit insane, 1610 with 60k in the bank, for a 13 man roster. They refuse to die - though I did suffer my first ever serious injury this game (-1 AV to a lineman).

Don't worry, BB Manager is mostly for tracking results at the group stage.

Assuming we do a similar arrangement next season I'll ask you all to submit the games twice, once to your division and once to an overall RT Cup one.

I kept expecting you to make a dive down the other flank with a skink or two so I tried not to give you space to do that. It did mean that I couldn't defend so well on that side, and I was avoiding taking hits for the first couple of turns in the second half too. It was very close though, I was planning out how to get my blitzers next to your ball carrier whilst you were still moving players and you kept putting them in the spaces I wanted. In the end I think I only had one marking your ball carrier, so you were unlucky when your skink fell.
