Andon's Forum Game: Bounty Hunters!
Re: Andon's Forum Game: Bounty Hunters!
thanks, guys. I'm feeling quite a bit better, but I'm heading away for the weekend. I'll post updates when I get back.
Re: Andon's Forum Game: Bounty Hunters!
I tend to enjoy these type of endeavours (added u for notJarvis) especially for the story. Way way way back in the day when Deng ran a dungeon game instanteous whatever you call it I lurked in the background reading it. It started in, if mempry serves me right, in a futuristic gas station with snacks which organically introduced all of the characters to each other. I really enjoyed being a fly on the wall watching all of you interact in character and honestly just as much out of game character. After awhile it kind of slowly ground to a halt.
So Ive had oh three chances to get involved with you gents in these parts and every time I think, maybe I want to be part of it, and shyly step up only to realize, nope Im such a newb (noob) it is going to drag the story down making everyone else's fun less so. Think of a one or two trying to command in Allegiance... welp there I go again running off on a tangentish. Shocking
What I did want to do is say this to Andon, Drakon, and the dearly departed but not forgotten (at least for me) Dengo. If one of the thngs that makes you go *meh* is anyone enjying thins than yep, Im rreading it and enjoying things in general and the buds/mates sitting about being friendly vibe too.
tl;dr
So what am I on about now? (for the love of Adept this is a tongue and cheek)
*smack* get back to it All of you! Caper about for my amusment! Now!

Disclaimer: I have commited to watching every episode of Doctor Who starting at the beginning. Please feel free to ccomment alongmy journey but please no spoilers of any kind and htis includes discussions of anything forward of where I am at that time. No writer X vs writer Z comparisons, no vague references to things to come, no wink nudge nudges even please. The request is if you are in doubt about if I have seen it yet than do not mention it please. Spoliers are really spolers for me and I hate to know what is about to happen. I will faithfully update where in the series I am and the goal is to watch the entire series before the New Year. *gulp* Oh boy About twenty hours a week is what a quick look online is telling me and quite alot of the dear Doctor no matter how much I may come to love the series. Man I hope I end up liking the darn thing... oh boy

Alright, update time!
She manages to deflect most of your questions as she works, until she finds a cargo container that it seems like she can't move. She opens it and freezes for a moment, then turns and shouts at you. It's a bomb! Another one, it seems, to whatever broke your ship. She tells you to leave, and she's going to attempt to disarm it. Not asking any further questions you use your suit's pack thrusters to get out of the hole in the side of your ship and move towards her ship, the only safe haven you can think of. Glancing back as you float over, you see your ship's power supply fail, engulfing much of the ship and turning the rest into bits of scrap metal flying through the void.
You get to her ship, clambering through the airlock before any of the debris can cut through your suit. It doesn't take you long to make your way to the cockpit and set a course to Parth before collapsing into the chair, the adrenaline leaving your system and leaving you exhausted.
Your options:
1 - Look through records and find out what the former owner of this ship was up to
2 - Go to authorities. All of your own records were on your ship and were destroyed, so there may not be much they can do.
3 - Carry on with your new ship. Find a contract.
- Ship destroyed, removed from inventory.
- Ship gained - Globan Lane Trotter, Komodo Alpha, Halo Armor, Paramount Budget I Sensors, Autocannon
[member=20]notjarvis[/member]
You drop the transport subject off before making contact with Ramror's creditor. They arrange for a pickup, where they hand you the money and take the guy off your hands. Justice has been done! And now you're in Meketh, and looking for more business...
+20,000 credits (Debt mission and Ramror's mission you took)
+0.1 Reputation
+1 Awareness
For the rest of you lot... I'm going to put [member=52]Drakon[/member] in charge of missions. Drakon, these are going to be "Generic" missions, not your super-special ones (Although you can offer those too). I'm just pulling the lazy card since I'm still not mentally back from vacation yet.

I shall accept the mission and after downloading all relevant details, waste no time in re-tracing the intended flight path, carefully looking for the lost ship.

Re: Andon's Forum Game: Bounty Hunters!
I will take the Longate mission. Gather the needed info (location and size of station, any specialties). Then head out for the station to assist repairs.
Re: Andon's Forum Game: Bounty Hunters!
I definitely want to know more about the brave captain that just saved my life.
Re: Andon's Forum Game: Bounty Hunters!
If there is any possibility for a mission that would get Dirk Shade out of Terasie, he would take it. Otherwise he will keep honing his skills and trying to up his rig.

Vicious Criminal? Sounds like the sort of Chap I like the sound of.
I'll take that mission, ask around a bit before I go in seedier bars and have a look around, ask whether anyone knows anything about Haakon the Red (pretend I wantto join his crew).
If I find nothing - head to Stormlord.

Re: Andon's Forum Game: Bounty Hunters!
Sorry for the wait, guys. Shit schedule at work, general being lazy, Space Engineers being fun, and some various other things.
[member=37]LtSpinx[/member]
You follow the ship's path, stretching your ship's sensors to their limits. Eventually, you get a reading on something moving, and after closing in you see it is the cargo ship you were sent to find. Attempts at hailing the ship, however, meet with no response, and after a few tries you attempt to use the signal light to gain their attention. There is no response. The ship seems in good condition, but nobody seems to be responding. If it continues on its current course, it will hit the jump point to Meketh in only a few hours. It's impossible to tell if the ship will jump through or not.
Your options:
1: Attempt more contact.
2: Alert authorities. Your work here is done.
3: Board the ship, see what's going on.
[member=26]Solarflux[/member]
You gather up the materials and bring your ship to Parth, where a swarm of ships is attending the damaged station. It seems odd that it would have been damaged so easily by a meteor, but that isn't really your concern. You unload the supplies, collect your money, and are off.
Money: +20,000
New System: Parth
[member=16]id3nt1ty[/member]
You do a bit of digging in your new ship's computers. Apparently the woman's name was Ashe, and she had previously helmed a cargo ship running around in the Twelve Systems. It wasn't enough, though, and she eventually had to sell her ship and purchase something smaller. A few notes in the system on her previous few contracts indicate her business wasn't the most reputable and she had a tendency to threaten others, but there were no incidents on record. You do find some information on some extended family living on Parth.
[member=4]Memento[/member]
You chase after Captain Karmin, finding him in the Meketh system after a good lead allows you to find him. He laughs as you approach him at the spacedock, informing you that his cargo has already been sold. It looks like there's nothing you can do here - You can't prove he had the cargo so there is little legal action you can take.
Mission Failed.
Costs incurred: 2500 Credit Docking Fees
[member=20]notjarvis[/member]
You find no information about this Haakon in Meketh, so you head to Stormlord. Even there, you can't find much information on him. Most of the information you DO get is laughs from a few people when you tell them he's a "Vicious Criminal." If he was so vicious, maybe they would have heard of him?
Haakon is nowhere to be found. You're not even sure Haakon existed.
Your options:
1: Continue searching for Haakon
2: Admit defeat (2500 credits lost in fees)
3: Go back to Cobra and see what's going on.
New System: Stormlord
[member=7]Raveen[/member]
You trace where the ship was supposed to be coming from and where it was supposed to go, and after tracing the path you decide to try a few other things. Surprisingly, your first attempt comes up with a result - You find the ship, and your sensors tell you that its power core is barely functioning. It seems that something broke during the jump, and they were unable to provide enough power to run their propulsion systems.
You alert authorities and contact the crew, letting them know help is on the way. After thanking you they ask if you have any spare food, as theirs has been running low. It's an easy cargo transfer, and their gratitude is immense as they dig in to meals like they haven't eaten for days. After looking at them, you conclude that they probably haven't been eating much, if anything.
Money: +20,000
