At the entrance and on the mine side of our camp.

When we get to that cave I can cast a little bit of (reversible!) life force to create us a small lid for it.. or a sand igloo within it?

The party enters the old mine, Verincent sealing it shut by creating a sort of door using rock and sand with his alchemy. All is dark until the elf-staff in R'rud's hand suddenly bursts into light at the tip. The tunnels seem to stretch on and on, and there's really no telling where it will lead you to.

Your knowledge of this area is limited, and even Sylvos doesn't know who used to own this mine, be it human, elf or goblin. You can make camp here and wait the storm out, or begin exploring. Sylvos prefers waiting, but the Cacti Warriors are restless, and are spoiling for an adventure.

-Stay in the mine until the sandstorm ends.
-Explore the mine.

Uther trembles a little, and says (with a quaver in his voice)

"If you guys want to explore the cavern a little, I don't mind if you want to leave me behind to bravely look after our elf friend"

Maybe we can come back and explore but I'd rather not risk our elf friend or his city.

Day 5

The sandstorm lasted through the day and into the next, but on the fifth, you were free, and you soon made your way to Riverside. The going was tough, as you seemed to walk in a single direction in an increasingly nondescript desert. Suddenly, the elven staff in R'rud's hand vibrates violently, hitting the floor and..

A river blooms out of the sand... it winds outwards, narrowly missing your toes, lapping cheerily. Trees emerge, and then a great, walled city...

"Welcome to Riverside," Sylvos said dryly, picking up his staff and leading the way. A strange bridge made of energy springs before him, allowing him to walk on the water. You follow this air bridge and walk into the gates and into the city, with curious looks from the elf guards.

Sylvos seems familiar with the area, and leads you to a traveler's inn, thanking you for your service in escorting him. He will speak to the mayor immediately, but you may take rest in the inn, payment's on him.

-Go to the inn!
-No, you have to see this through, follow him.
-CAST SPELLS?!

The elves seemed tovrespect him (not stopping us), and he can get an audience with the mayor on a whim. He seems pretty importabt, so I'd listen to him. Besides, there are elven drinks at the inn! Who knows what they're like

I'll commune with the spirits, see if they have anything useful to say about the nature of this place.

I would like to follow him, if he allows.

Enchanted land of the Foreigners, you are in, Fenlander.

You think on that for a moment. Considering that elves are extra-dimensional beings, that sounds just about right.

Great is the city of river-side, hidden from the eyes of mortals. Warm and merry are the temperament of the Foreigners, but they are makers of weapons and steel. Herein lies power. Thread with caution.

Oh, the elven mead is really good. Seriously, try some.

Uther will commune with a different kind of spirits in the Inn.

Uther has a few drinks,1 talks to the locals and tries to casually get a bit more information about Sylvos

Folst had a bath to try and wash five days of desert out of his skin.
