Teemo support

Postby Gandalf » Sat Aug 02, 2014 9:56 pm

I've tried this 4 times and won 4 times. Must be lucky. Anyway the theory is...
- people are only allowed 3 wards each now
- Teemo can have 20+ mushrooms out easily

So, it follows that the solution is go Teemo and mushroom everything.

Masteries - 9/0/21. The 10% cd is very nice.
Runes - bit of a mixture but be sure to get flat armour to negate the chance of dying lots early game, since teemo is squishy and all (I learnt this the hard way).

Start off with that gold item that turns into Frostfang. Fun fact - when someone hits a mushroom this activates the passive 3 times! Also, health pots. Get the yellow trinket, change for the red one once you hit level 6.
First shop back, upgrade to frostfang, and get boots. Probably more health pots too.
Morellomicon is the main item to aim for. It gets you to 30% cdr, enough mana regen to mean you rarely run out, a nice ap boost and a random useful passive. Now you can plant mushrooms everywhere :D
------------
After this, you want to get Liandry's, to make those mushrooms super-annoying, plus give yourself some more health.

Then it's mostly about keeping yourself alive as you will find yourself targeted (Teemo's global taunt :)), plus hopefully you can escape running into people whilst you are out putting mushrooms down (which is support teemo's main job). You will draw fire in fights, and if you can stay alive it will help your team out no end. I've picked things from the following list depending on team compositions and how the game is going...
Radabon's
Rod of Ages
Warmogs
Thornmail
Randuin's
Merc treads (this plus scaling mr runes tend to get me enough magic res to get by)
Banshee's veil

I periodically take blue potions, to get cdr to 40% :)
------------

So what do you think?

Laning will probably bw very compromised with all the agressive supports like Braum, Leona and Thresh; but might be a worthwhile investment to late game.

Teemo is even great for a sieging team, just place some mushrooms so that they get murdered if they jump you.

Especially great with like, Caitlyn, as she has great sieging and easy safe laning phase were she can just farm and poke from a long distance.

But what do I know, I no longrr play :P

Braum is the definition of a non-agressive support ^^.

No way, safeguard to minion and slap em in the face with passive seems pretty standard from streams I've seen

Memento, come back and play again! We need people for our ranked team!

Back on topic.... I've won a lot more with Teemo support than I have lost. BUT.... the three I have lost were all by huge margins - when your adc goes 2/10/3 it doesn't matter who your support is! In the 10-11 I've played, only one was genuinely close and required a lot of concentration. So.... this testing has been rather inconclusive.

I seem to often come top or nearly top for damage done to champs too despite building very little ap. The theory of quantity > quality of mushrooms seems to be a good one. It also increases the power of Teemo's global taunt. Funniest moment in that regard was when Yi with 300-400ad went flying past all my team-mates to hunt me down. A combination of thornmail, a mushroom, a 2.5s blind and belatedly some help from my team-mates saw me survive with 50hp  ;D A few times in lane I saved my team-mate when they had <50hp themselves thanks to a well-timed blind. The enemy rarely retreats at this point and usually dies to a tower or some such.
