Re: RT Cup Season 3 - Matchday 4 - 17th August

Postby notjarvis » Wed Aug 13, 2014 10:22 pm

For some reason the Blood Bowl Servers seem to have sorted themselves out (Or the Wizard's spell was not permanent  :-*)

Logging on to manage my team tonight.

My Minotaur and one of my beastmen are injured for the next match.

But I have enough cash to replace my -AV Chaos Warrior and get a new Beast-man (13 is the Max Roster I want to run from now on)

The Orcs will still have to face the 4 chaos warrior wall and a growing number of Block Enabled Hitters :-)

And as SuchDodge will be free I suggest that Ident and I make up our week 2 game, assuming that everyone can make it.

Sounds good to me!

Actually Rav, work are sending me on a fieldtrip Sunday to Monday and they only told me today. Can we play the game sometime next week instead?

No worries. The longer you leave it, the more chances I have to get some tackle on the team :)

Ouch.

The Chaos Boys had a lot of decent Block dice allowing them to just push Orcs out of the way and over all over the pitch, allowing them to run and score with regularity.

I spectated teh Chaos vs Orc match and it was an absolute corker. Whilst the dice did favour nj the victory was helped by the application of superior strength. If you roll mostly 2d blocks, you soak up a lot of skulls (having block helps too :) ). Interestingly, in the last couple of turns the orcs turned it round and it was swinging the other way. Unfortunately it was already 4-0 but that's the way the game goes.

I wasn't able to view the Halfling/Ogre game but it sounded particularly raucous over mumble.

Hmm, triple post, oh well.

What do we want to do next weekend? Carry on with Week 5 or we could have a catchup week. The only problem there is that @Idanmel has two games to make up. I'm happy either way so let me know what you fancy chaps.

I could try to schedule a catch up game midweek if that would suit Idanmel?

Not 100% sure at the moment that I can make Sunday in any case, but hopefully. Bit of a family problem that will be disruptive over the next fortnight.

No worries La, RL comes first obviously and you can always make up the games later. We'll definitely have a catch up week at some point. Currently Idan has missed his games against Wyld and Daigoro and I need to make up the game against Ident.

My thoughts at the moment are to wait until we hear from Idan. If we don't hear from Idan then we'll assume that something's come up and I'll schedule Idan's off week for this sunday.

Sounds like a plan - I should be about this weekend. And If Idan shows up I'm happy to try and schedule our match in in the week sometime.

Apologies for lack of match update from the Orcs, but I'm still trying to scrape then off the floor... PirlOrc (New thrower signing from the continent) was disgusted with his new team mate's inability to stand up for longer that a turn, so decided to start doing everything himself by the end of the game.

Hi guys...

I wasn't at home for the last 2.5 weeks, and just got back. So I will probably play on all the remaining Sundays.

Daigaro, I'm free almost every evening. Do you still have time to play before Sunday?

Hooray! It's Idan!

That means that this weeks games are...

The Mighty Undercheesers vs The Cangurus

The Weird Outkasts vs SuchDodge

The Pinewood Carrions vs Team Shrek

The Orkly Ducklingz vs Da Zoggin' Gitz

Lager & Lime will be providing post match refreshments.

Good to see you back Idanmel!

A somewhat late match report but here is the result of the Ogres vs. Halflings. Finally a non-defeat for the Ogres!
Image

Ogres scored in turns 8 and 16. It's slow crossing the lines with movement 5 guys.
No fewer than 3 halflings died this match! In my defence, 2 of them were self-inflicted (ie, the halflings blocked me, not vice versa). Still, there were some pretty horrible injury rolls for LtSpinx. A 4th one lost a point in agility methinks. Ouch. I only suffered one injury, a snotling who will be back next game.
The first half was close, with the halflings nearly scoring at one point, but a scrambled defence from a swarm of snotlings managed to save the day. Some more fumbling from both sides later, and I managed to sneak it over the line on the last turn, though it did rely on an Ogre picking the ball up (4+ required).
The second half started with one of the treemen trying to throw a halfling forwards. This failed, leaving him vulnerable. Over the next few turns a lot of blocking happened until on turn 13-ish Spinx's team consisted of 2 treemen lying down, 2 halflings standing up and 2 halflings standing down. So it was then just a question of walking over the line, which I could've managed in T15 with a GFI, but I waited until T16 to be sure.

Was a fun game for me anyway. Those crazy halflings were somewhat suicidal at times though!

Argh. New layout. Was just getting used to the old one.

Idan - I might be able to play on Friday evening - I think the wife is out. Will double check and let you know. Can't do Saturday, I have a gig.
