RT Cup Season 3 - Winners - The Weird Outcasts!

Re: RT Cup Season 3 - Catchup Sunday - 14th September
I think you've miscalculated that 2d block - only a skull would have caused me trouble, both down would have been least desirable but all other results feature a push and I think it was my blitzer making the block so he would have survived a both down result.
Re: RT Cup Season 3 - Catchup Sunday - 14th September
I watched most of the Carrions versus the Ogre game, and Gandalf did have bad dice (The Boneheads were especially annoying I guess, as it makes your players useless, but it's the risk you play with these types of teams, and may be why I don;t go for Vampyres).
However Rav took advantage each time, playing good position and making sure Gandalf didn't have a way back to pressure the ball carrier.
The Carrions are an Awesome Physical team, and will be even more worrying next season (They are my hot tip to take the next league, and they still in with a shout for this one).
I'm very worried about next week, can easily envision my team losing a couple of players to injury versus Rav, and being weakened versus Ident.

I'm a few games behind now. Is it worth me trying to organise to catch up one during the week? LtSpinx are you available this week?

Re: RT Cup Season 3 - Catchup Sunday - 14th September
I think Spinx is away for this week
Re: RT Cup Season 3 - Catchup Sunday - 14th September
The plan is that Ident and Spinx play midweek either this week or next. On Sunday we pay the remaining week 9 games. A week on Sunday we play week 8 which features SuchDodge vs The Cangurus and The Weird Outcasts vs The Pinewood Carrions as a final decider.
Hopefully that works out...

So I need to book this Sunday then that's it till next season? If so I am pleased at not sitting out another week

My apologies, been playing with too many Big Guys and somehow thought that defender down wouldn't have been a push (which doesn't make sense in any way shape or form). I'd've taken a both down result (even if you had blitz) as that ogre would then have probably got up and hit your ball carrier next turn.

I accept bonehead fails as part of being an ogre, a lot of the time you are just bashing people hoping to injure them / create space anyway; not 100% crucial work. I very rarely reroll them - save them for when they are *really* needed. I do however retain the right to be royally peed off at turns that happen 1 in every 1,944 turns whoever I am managing, especially so when it results in ones entire front line to be either on the floor or with no tackle zones. Rolling 1-1-1-red skull-both down would screw over any team.

This is somewhat easy when you have twice as many players on the pitch, the opposition is slow, no-one higher than ST1 has dodge and you pass every dice roll.
Khemri are not a bottom tier-side - no-one who isn't a bottom-tier team should get credit for beating the ogres, just laughed at for *not* beating them :pRe: RT Cup Season 3 - Catchup Sunday - 14th September
Khemri are definitely tier 2, so only one up from the stunties, and if you want a laugh download the replay of me against Spinx

No, sadly it's a week on Sunday for the last games including your showdown with the Ogres.

Nah I would cry because I haven't had an obscenely lucky game in seasons 1, 2 or 3...
Yes they are tier 2 and should be beating tier 3. Frankly I found the post in your team thread quite insulting as it suggested your win had more to do with good tactics (fouling ogres? what did that actually achieve? 1 or 2 stunned?) than it did good dice rolls. It does not make you sound like a gracious winner. I repeat, no non-tier 3 team should be primarily celebrating and congratulating themselves on how well they played when they are beating a tier 3 team, especially when the dice were clearly on your side too.
Re: RT Cup Season 3 - Catchup Sunday - 14th September
I thought I knocked out an ogre by fouling? I might well be wrong on that though.
Obviously no offence was meant by my post and if you want me to change or remove it I will.

Re: RT Cup Season 3 - Catchup Sunday - 21st September
Thanks for your comments Rav which have calmed me down. I got way over-emotional Sunday night after the game & your comments and couldn't get to sleep until 2am or so. I don't know why I over-reacted so badly.
Maybe I'm not emotionally cut out to play ogres after all.
If you could add a comment about my bad luck coming in unfortunate clumps that would be nice, and/or about how 2-0 was a bit flattering (given it was only possible because of a) my front line going to sleep and b) the kick-off event turning the clock back a turn).

Blood Bowl can be an exercise in frustration at the best of times, let alone when your team needs to roll 5d6 to move! I do sympathise, my write up against Spinx is two lines for a reason
I'll make some changes later. BTW, can you remember the first half? I know I turned you over and didn't score but I have no idea how.

Re: RT Cup Season 3 - Catchup Sunday - 21st September
First half, you kicked off, my ag3 ogre got the ball, a snotling moved to within scoring distance of the line. You marked him. I cleared some space in the middle of the pitch so my ogre could make a 4+ pass to the snotling which I failed & failed the reroll. You picked the ball up as a result of you pushing my snotling into it, it then bounced to where your guy was standing and picked it up. (You may remember some discussion about rules at that point). This was turn 3 or 4 I think. Then I managed to get an ogre onto your ball carrier (yay break tackle), ball fell lose but no-one on my side able to pick it up (I made a tactical error here in moving my snotling before the ogre blitz).
Next turn you picked the ball up again and over the next few turns you trundled down the right, I tried to slow you down (easier with more players on the pitch)... after turn 7 you were within a full run and 2xGFI of scoring but I managed to blitz your guy back a space, making scoring on your last turn impossible. So you did a pass for the SPP instead.
Re: KO'ing ogres, I think the only time that was achieved was when you pushed one out of bounds. I wouldn't swear to it though.

Re: RT Cup Season 3 - Catchup Sunday - 21st September
I've looked that up and I was wrong, a pushed player can't pick up the ball, so again I apologise for that. I'm not sure it makes sense but the rules are clear.
