Date-wise, looks like a quiet Q4 for me, can't see any Sundays I won't be around for this side of Christmas.
Can we have a firm proposal on friendlies & vote on it please?

Re: Season 4 sign up and Season 3 feedback
OOO look at Ident teasing some stat-related press release scheduled to happen during the half-time show at the Ducklingz stadium this week...
Friendlies - I understand the WANT for them, to get a game when your league opponent isn't available, and to stifle the impatience of levelling a team quicker, but I think it will be difficult to keep tracks on (as close to) a level playing field - it'll just mean even more inducements flying around, more (bastard) wizards, etc. Perhaps we could allocate 'development' matches out? Say, two per team per season? Or 3 for new teams, 1 for experienced teams? Is that sounding like what Gandalf proposed anyway... and wouldn't tying to fit all these games in involve more commitment than an hour or son on Sunday night, or meant the league would drag on longer?
I'm going to vote NO to friendlies, YES to another league in the same format and YES to the RTCup to follow after the league like playoffs, with added incentives (somehow) relating to league positions.

Also - I will be taking either the Ducklingz again or, depending on what the roster looks like for their chances of survival, the Wu Tang Skinks may come out to get squished piss people off play.
Rav - haven't heard of 3dice block, I'm guessing it's a podcast? And I'm guessing the skink team didn't go so well...?

Re: Season 4 sign up and Season 3 feedback
Friendlies: I'm not sure that preseason games are particularly necessary at this time. I'm happy to take feedback on this but new teams haven't been especially disadvantaged this year - of the top 4 2 are new teams, 2 are returning teams. Of the other new teams, they make up the bottom 3 but those are all stunty teams and would be overperforming to be anywhere else, at any stage of development.
Therefore the only friendlies I would propose is for teams eliminated from the cup. Practically speaking that means 1 week of friendly games assuming we choose to watch the cup final. Assuming we have 9 coaches, my only stipulation is that whoever sits out the first week of the cup (e.g the last placed team in the league) gets a game in the friendlies. If I had to rule on this I would say that the team with the highest TV has to sit out.
@Dai - Yes, 3Die BLock is one of the BB podcasts, and probably the best for advice, particularly if you listen to their 2.0 series. I listen to most of the podcasts (I don't really get Zlurpee for whatever reason) and enjoy them. Worth a look for some advice.

Re: Season 4 sign up and Season 3 feedback
I had no idea there were Blood bowl podcasts!
I'm looking them out, something to listen too on the Commute.
3 DieBlock mentioned a Lizardmen team with one Kroxigor and the rest skinks, which counted as a stunty team in the tournamentit was in. Sounds interesting, but I hated the skinks as they had so few really useful skills t get.
Okay
I'm going to enter a Norse Team
Called Stagocalypse
Will be writing some stuff later. I just made myself laugh a bit thinking up a back story (although you may see where it is going from the team name).

I think this is because there are only two 'vet' teams in the league... and we are kinda expecting them both to finish 1 & 2 (Even though my money is on the Elves...) All the other teams were new, so it's been pretty even for us.
But yo' tha boss sir! I'll be happy to go along with what you decide.
Stagocalypse - That could get messy...! They don't sound overly skink friendly. I wouldn't want to play the season as whipping boys; so the Wu Tang Skinks will probably only come out if there's another team to fight over last place with.

I’m abstaining from the vote on cups and friendlies, and vote yes for maintaining the current league format.
Re: Season 4 sign up and Season 3 feedback
Here's my reasons behind not going for preseason friendlies:
Time - If every team wants to play 2 games before the season, that's two playing weeks gone before we even start.
Fairness - realistically not all teams will benefit much from those two games. Elves can throw a lot of passes but the slow, bashy and low skill teams won't pick up many SPPs - for instance, I always saw the Khemri as a 2 to 3 season prospect, I never expected to be doing well this year (the fact that I am is nice, but was never the plan
).
Risk - there's always the possibility that you come out worse off. If a key positional dies in a friendly, they're still dead when the league starts.
If we could do something else to accelerate growth I'd go for it. Table top leagues can do things like double MVPs for teams with few games played or increased team buying budget but we don't have that level of flexibility.

Nah, I'm not fussed. It'll force me to be a bit more adventurous.

I'll let you play the Wu Tang Skinks if you want dude?
Re: Season 4 sign up and Season 3 feedback
There are broadly 3 categories of team - Bash, Agility and hybrid. Norse are one of the hybrid teams, although at the bashy end, so you might want to consider other hybrids like Lizards, Necromantic or Human. Or go straight bash or straight agility.
In my experience, Necro are hard to get going but once you get the hang of their style they are a lot of fun.
