Results like the above are why I was deliriously happy to escape the Cangurus with a draw.

Fables with 80 yards of rushing gains but no touchdowns but still conceding 4? Sounds like it must've been end-to-end stuff!

It was! Some silly mistakes by myself, and unfortunate rolls at crucial moments meant the elves got the ball. And once they have the ball...
Re: Season 4 - Matchday 6 - 16th November 2014
So!
Idan won the toss and chose to kick to me. Wilhelm Grimm doesn't like the rosy glow in D Pack ChooChooPra's cheeks and kills him dead. A bunch more elves get hit with no real consequences, Fairy Godmother picks up the ball and it's over to the Cangurus. Despite witnessing the death of one elf already, Marshal GoldTeeth and Pale Carnegie decide to run AT the Necromantic ball carrier and put a bit of pressure on her. Erucion Shadondaleth on the other hand, decides he can't live without D Pack and kills him self. Fairy Godmother decides she doesn't really want to face the elves by herself and makes a push up the left flank, guarded by Mister Dark and Bigby Wolf.
The Fables make slow progress down the left flank, and whilst they do get a number of hits on the elves, they sadly remain unhurt. Unfazed by the deaths of their late team mates, the Cangurus start to put real pressure on the Fairy Godmother and she decides to pull back. She runs back down the left and towards the center of the field. A quick look over her shoulder and she knows she'll be safe if she can take just one more step, but rolls a one. Due to a bit of over excited blocking by Jack Sprat, there are no team rerolls to use this turn and she trips over her feet, Injures herself and the ball bounces just meters from the Fables end zone. Idan sees an opportunity to score and starts yelling at the elves to get over to the ball. The sprightly Elves make an excellent show of succeeding GFI and dodges, but To be decided gets a bit carried away and he fumbles the ball. The Fables Ultras are not big fans of elves showing off, and have managed to sneak a fireball launcher into the stadium. Two of the fourth elves defending the ball get Stunned, another gets knocked over and Idan breaths a sigh of relief that no one got seriously hurt. Still flustered from the fireball attack, the Fables coach starts yelling and pointing at the ball. Bigby Wolf starts running for the ball, but Wilhelm Grimm pushes an elf out in front of him and he only just makes the dodge. It's now or never so Bigby makes a GFI and manages to pick up the ball. Baba Yaga runs over to support Bigby, but the rest of the Fables are too far away to be of much help. The Cangurus that can stand up and start gathering around Bigby. Zig Zag Ziglar charges the mighty wolf at a dead run and manages to knock him over and the ball bounces into Pale Carnegies hands. Infuriated at getting knocked over, Bigby launches an attack at Pale Carnegie who stumbles and drops the ball. Baba Yaga scoops up the ball, but can't go anywhere with it. Rony Tobbins blocks Baba Yaga, who stumbles and the ball is loose once again. Marshal GoldTeeth decides enough is enough, picks up the ball and runs it over the line. 1 - 0 to the Cangurus.
Outraged at their coaches performance, the Fables Ultras start a riot and the ref is forced to wind back the clock or else they'll kill every last elf in the stadium. There are only ten elves on the pitch, thanks to the ref there are now three turns to score in. Unfortunately, Bigby wastes all the Ultras hard work by rolling ones for both pickup attempts. Realizing they have the jump on the necromantic players, the elves start bashing away at the Fables and manage to stun both Mister Dark and D Pack ChooChooPra who decided if he has to be dead, he might as well play Blood Bowl. Once you've died once, it's not that big a deal any more. Elves being elves, they can't see a ball on he floor and not run towards it. Bigby Wolf picks up the ball this time and start dashing down the left. Beast sees what is going on and starts running up the field ahead of him and manages to get just within scoring range. But wait! Zig Zag Ziglar has also cottoned on and manages to push him away! It's important to note at this point that Necromantic aren't very bright, and just yelling "GO GO GO" doesn't leave much instruction for the less mobile team members. In her haste to "GO GO GO" Posey Pig trips over her trotters and Bigby is left exposed to the ball mad elves. Day Vid L N takes a pot shot at Bigby whilst Marshal GoldTeeth makes a run for the touch zone. Bigby goes down and Joe Vitalynx scoops up the ball and passes to Jack Can't Field. Jack sprints down the pitch, hands off to Marshal GoldTeeth and the first half ends 2-0 to the Cangurus.
The second half starts with a classic display of the Two Turn Touchdown. Dun Pig kicks the ball deep and the Cangurus swarm across the line of scrimmage, knocking over Beast and Dun Pig on the way. In one of his better moments of the match, the Fables coach decides it's probably best if there are as many tackle zones on the elves as possible. With four elves to cover, Wilhelm Grimm attemps to thin the numbers and knocks one to the ground. The rest of the Fables scramble to mark the remaining elves as best they can. It's not enough though, and To be decided is unfazed by Bigby's dog breath. Some excellent coaching by Idan means that To be decided only has to make one dodge and a go for it to score. 3 - 0 to the Cangurus.
With Fairy Godmother out of the game, it's down to Bigby to act as ball carrier. The Fables set off down the left flank and there is a little bit of pushing and shoving from both teams. Any plans to keep the score difference any lower are swiftly blown out of the window by the Fables Coach inability to decide whether to push an elf off the pitch or start moving towards to end zone. Colin Pig gets a bit confused and ruins any plans to send elves crowd surfing, so Bigby decides there's nothing for it to start running. The best route to safety is through To be decided, so he makes the block. To be decided gets pushed just as the ref blows his whistle. The ref decides he can't tolerate Frenzy so it's probably best if To be decided lures Bigby away from his supporting players, and then KO's him in the middle of the pitch.
Once again the elves swarm towards the ball. At this point the Fables are missing a Wight (Baba Yaga got surfed at some point by a bloody Side Stepping Blitzer), their Ghoul and a Werewolf. The Grimm brothers realize it's probably up to them to stop the elves scoring again. Wilhelm only manages to push an elf, and Jacob could have pushed an elf too, but the Fables coach was sure he had Block and chose Both Down instead. It turns out their coach was wrong and Jacob gets knocked down. A bit of a scrum ensues but it's not long before the Cangurus have the ball the score is 4 - 0.
The Fables don't have many options for their last drive. There's only one really mobile player left on the pitch, so they decided to try this caging thing they've heard about. It's a slow plod and the Wights and Flesh Golems do a good job of protecting Beast, but the Cangurus do a better job of slowing them down and the Fables run out of time.

Yeah, I saw on Facebook. I hope you're all better now. I've called off the assassins as I suppose it wasn't entirely your fault that I got stood up

Now outnumbered by the catch-up Sunday

That's a bit inevitable by this stage. Hopefully ident and I can play mid week to get me more on an even keel. I still need to arrange a match with Spinx too.

I really need to check this thread more often. Yeah, we can play on catch-up day. Or if you have an opportunity before then, hit me up on Steam. I've plenty of free time so it's always worth sending me a quick message on there to ask if I want to play.
Re: Season 4 - Matchday 7 - 23rd November 2014
Escaped from the Tomb Army (incredibly luckily it must be said) with a 2-1 victory.
Despite starting the second half defending with 5 Norsemen (with the scores tied) (3 players injured - 6 KOs, of which 1 recovered), I just about managed to steal the ball and run for a TD.
After scoring a TD with 2 turns left, I again failed KO rolls miserably and restarted with 4, but Temmop didn't have time to capitalise.
Only one of the injuries was lasting, and "The Prof" has returned to high level education after suffering a fractured skull. (Higher level education for these guys being lower school)
Bigger match report coming, but was a very enjoyable game in which I had a fair amount of luck with the (much fewer) block dice a rolled *, and pretty good D6 (apart from on the KO). Whilst Temmop murdered me with the injury dice.
P.S.
* there were 3 moments when I was extraordinarily luck with block dice, when I Frenzied badly (due to a way overstretched team)- One of my players survived a 3 Dice Block against where Temmop got to choose. And I survived 2 other 2 Dice Block Against Rolls

Idan's suggested I do some statistics on the two matches that happened today (Spinx was a no-show) and I may well do that, but for now, here's a screenshot of notjarvis' injury/ko pit just before half time.
