There are also bounty hunting contracts that appear in some places too. They're a nice credit boost (15-20k in my area, near Mike), and you'll get influence/rep faster than otherwise.

Be wary of nav beacons - In my experience, the system authority vessels will attack you if you start shooting - wether someone is wanted or not. Work fast and you can jump out before they reach or damage you, but I am fairly sure they remember you for a bit.

Got myself to Eravate in a tarted up Eagle. Added a multicannon and kill warrant scanner.

I've run one mission for Eravate Network delivering stuff to Maine Oputpost and hopefully will pick up tonight with some killing :)

If you are not actually wanted, you can just leave and come back. The crooked cops have enough time to calm down.

He took a week long passionate dip to Elite, but now has set it aside as it needs more content to hold his attention (I don't blame him, it _is_ very mich a WiP, with essential core features missing still).

Besides us three, from the RT bunch I know that both Solamnus and Solarflux have the game. And Spyball of course, but I don't think she has made an account for this "new" forum.

I will definately get this game in the future. From what I can tell from most reviews its still too barebone for me to enjoy it long enough to justify the investment considering I'm not the sandbox type of guy.

Besides I'm still playing Dragon Age: Inquisition and I'm only 10 hours in so a lot to cover in the mean time.

So, I got my first kill on an Anaconda and earned a sweet 100K (only 75k available from the Feds but even so) so I stored my Eagle and bought a Hauler to do some trading. I've taken off the shields and I'm doing the standard Eravate Marine Equpment / Tea run for profit and fun.

My plan is to trade and/or combat my way to a Cobra and then spread my wings a bit.

A quick question - timed missions, do they run in real time or logged in time?

Real time. The universe doesn't stop when you log off.

I recommend heading out of Eravate for missions. That place is chock-full of players, and the prices are pretty flattened. If you meant you are running tea from Ackerman Market to Cleve Hub, for insteance, the profit are maybe 30 - 40% of what you could be getting by heading out of the system. That said, there is an extraction economy nearby, which sells minerals for very low prices, and Cleve Hub buys them for profits of nearly 1k / ton. I don't remember the place, but it should be just one jump away from Eravate for a Hauler.

Kini can just fuck right off. Took a couple of missions to broaden my horizons. One was to deliver to Yakubgai (spelling?) the second to Kini. The first m,ission was fine. Kini... the bloody station is miles away. That place can piss right off.

New plan. Flog the hauler and pick up my Eagle. Fit extra fuel and upgrade the FSD and head off to new markets.

If your Eagle is at Dalton Gateway (as I suspect) it's a horribly located station and the trip there takes an age. I recommend you fly the Hauler there, swap to your Eagle, sell the Hauler, and never come back to that system.

Don't, as I did, get a Cr30,000 fine in a station, run away and sell you eagle so you could pay the fine only to discover that you no longer have the jump range to get back.

I purposely finished up last night at Cleve Hub in Eravate and that's where I parked my Eagle too. I don't really want to sell the Eagle because I have an emotional attachment to it...

I kept mine as well. It's stored at Vela City, in the system where I started.

Incidentally the system with Vela City is in a very nice neighbourhood. If you're Federal aligned, or at least not hostile to them, you could do a lot worse 8)

I've traveled over to the border space, an imperial system called Chimiri. There's good trading to be done here and not too many pirates. I want to upgrade to an adder but I can't find one for sale so I'm doing missions in my eagle with some minor trade and smuggling on the side.

Imp space is good for making money. Lots of opportunities, and few laws to worry about.
