The Chimiri Tourist Board

Postby Raveen » Tue Mar 17, 2015 1:32 pm

I decided to do a couple of Naval Ascention missions last night. The first was to kill an opposing General in an Imperial Clipper. Shooty shooty dead Gen. Hooray!

So I picked the next one. Same deal, kill a General in a Clipper. The first time I found him he was in a wing with two Cobras. I killed a Cobra but was damaged enough to need to bug out. I went back after repairs and the General was alone. I was doing nicely but wasn't able to get the kill before he bugged out. I've gone for repairs and got myself a FSD Wake Scanner and Interdictor.

Id3, do you fancy joining me this evening to kill this bastard once and for all?

So this is actually a bug. If you finish an ascension mission then you shouldn't get that type of mission again, but the BB takes time to update so you can get the same mission twice. So I could cancel the second mission and not miss out.

You should still get the rank up, I think.

Apparently not, unless it's changed since the ED forum thread I read was posted. Apprently it's possible to lose rank by doing a squire mission, then accepting another squire mission and a Knight mission and finishing the knight mission first. When you finish the second Squire mission it dumps you back down to Squire.

I've changed the name of this thread as I'm going to keep posting my Chimiri based activities.

So last night I scotched the idea of going to murder that General and decided to bounty hunt instead. I tried a site in the Asteroid belt but there was nothing doing so I went for the nav point again. Lots of lovely targets to be had and I made 300k to 400k in an hour. There was at least one Federal Dropship and a host of sidewinders. A good few Cobras too which are always a decent value target.

After purchasing a class 2 rail gun I headed for one of the war zones that sprang up last night. It's two minor factions so I picked the one that isn't Social Chimiri Free after a few minutes of trying to work out how to join a side. In half an hour I made 120K which was fun but not as good value as bounty hunting, and also had no useful reputation bonuses.

Id3, where were you hunting? Out by the giants?

I was bounty hunting at the RES near around Chimiri 7, which was good money - mostly Cobras/Vipers with the occasional Anaconda.

I've made my way to Lugh now and signed up with the Crimson State Group. I wasn't a long trip so I'd be happy to pop back and help out if you don't fancy getting involved here. I think Andon and and Wyld are on the side of the Federation, so it would be good to have a wing man for the combat zone and potentially help interdict Type-9s to steal Military Intelligence.

I'll see how I'm fixed tonight. I did a little more civil war in Chimiri last night and ended up getting killed by a Python. All covered by the insurance though :)

Good old insurance. I won't be on tonight, probably tomorrow night.

Civil war in Chimiri? Combat bonds AND increasing imp rep? Sounds like fun to me. I might make my way down there.

I'm tempted by it too, if only so we can fly together against a common enemy. Plus my Bounty hunting already has got me negative rep with the independent factions there anyway.

Sadly it's two minor factions, not the Imperial one. If you want Imperial rep just bounty hunt.

True! I wonder if we all did a load of missions for a minor faction, could we get them big enough to start a war for control against the empire? And then pile in on the side of the legitimate government of course :)

Theoretically, yes. Not sure how difficult it would be though. Might be better to go find an independent, smallish system with a pro-Imperial faction and just support the Imperials all the way through

I think I prefer that idea, pushing the frontier of the Empire for fun and profit :)

The indies and feds immediately around Chimiri are crappy systems so we'll need to look further afield for a candidate.
