Season 6 Sign Up Thread

Hello Everyone!

As we're slowly grinding towards the end of Season 5 it's time to start thinking about Season 6. Please post here with your preferred team and any dates you can't make.

As ever I'd like to keep it to only one team of any given race and I expect any clashes to be negotiated. If you can't agree I'll make a final ruling but I doubt that'll be necessary and you probably don't want my arbitrary justice anyway.

New teams can play exhibition matches before the start of the league - particularly if you're eliminated from the cup - but please don't go mad with it.

I'm undecided regarding whether to bring back the Wood Elves, the Ogres or start a new team, so I will postpone my choice for now to reduce the chance of conflict with others.

I have to say I'm a rather interesting proposition as a friendly - vampires are far more likely to damage their own team than yours which is just what you want in early team-building friendlies

The Isa Black Stars have bumbled their way from the Outback & have ended up on the BB pitch.

Them convict prospectors have survived the Bush, and Mount Isa... Can they survive the BB pitch? Probably not. Especially with Coach Hingu ordering the beers.

No idea at all with whom though. The Lizards will never exceed what they did this season, so it's probably time to send them to the honourable retirement the Outcasts are living in.

Not sure whether I want to face the potential trauma of those drunken eejits again.

Vaguely tempted by going halflings as Per Dai's suggestion in the League thread, as an entirely different change of pace.
Other options I was looking at include Dark Elves / Undead / Nurgle


But I'm completely undecided. Could be all or none of the above -)

Ooh - I wouldn't pick dark elves NJ! They are one of the easiest teams. (behind undead though... but undead are less elfy.)

Nurgle need a season to get going but are excellent long term. Halflings is a bit silly.

Interesting that you didn't like Norse so much - I remember them as my toughest game with the Undercheesers last season.

I think the Norse went downhill when I murdered their Thrower. Although given his performance he deserved to die.

Dark Elves are a lot of fun. I strongly suggest the 3 blitzer, 1 Witch Elf build - it's probably not optimal but I found the team came alive once the Witch arrived.

Undead are very good if you can balance the slow and strong with the quick and less strong elements.

Go Halflings the season I bring the 'Plan back, we can have a proper stunty showdown then

I think my vision of them is coloured by the traumatic collapse of luck I had over the last 4 games with them (where according to BBManager I was left with -10 chance or more on the D6 in each game), the thrower getting injured to the point where I let him go didn't help too much either (A ST 2 thrower doesn't work).

Even when I was winning games with them though they seemed ridiculously incapable of mustering a decent pass, took me 3 or four games into the season, and about 10 attempts before they managed one.
I am actually tempted to give them another "Throw", as I was keen to try a more expansive game (which was why I picked them as the elfy teams had all been played recently), and my luck can't be that bad again can it?

Well to be fair Norse are one of the lower "normal" teams. Although probably better than that earlier on when no one else has all that Block.

Why not try Pro elf then, if you want expansive? They are the expansivest, and not too much above average.
