Club Twenty Seven had a very exciting friendly against The Cheeseosophers, beating them 2-1. C27 received and scored in turn 5, then held off the vampires for the remainder of the half.
The second half opened with a riot stunning every player on C27's left flank allowing the Vampires to run straight through after a spectacular pass by a Thrall. A couple of Pit Fighters made brave attempts to surf the Vampire ball receiver/carriers but didn't quite get the dice they needed. With the rest of C27 starting to pull themselves together, la had to score quickly or risk losing the ball.
C27 set up to push hard down the left flank, so la kicked the ball just over the line of scrimmage on the right, forcing C27 to very quickly rethink their plans and form another uncomfortable cage. Some unfortunate bloodlusts for the Vampires and lucky block dice for the Khorne meant they scored in just 3 turns.
The last two turns where undoubtedly the most exciting as la made a very nice run down my left flank. Despite a perfect kick to the opposite corner of the field (Bloodthirster's have the best kicking animation) la's AG4/Pass Thrall made an excellent long pass to give the Vampires a chance to score an equalizer in their final turn. More failed bloodlust dice, and a good frenzy by the Bloodthirster meant la's Vampire had to dodge twice, pick up in a tackle zone, dodge out and then pass to a thrall waiting in the endzone, but it all went wrong as he failed to dodge away with the ball.
C27 took advantage of the lose ball and succeeded in a pass to get Amy Whinehouse to level two. Shiny Demon (the Bloodthirster) made one last block, rolled a skull and died in the last action of the game.
Thankfully he regenerated.
The D6 where quite unkind to la, as he failed a much larger percentage of Bloodlust rolls than expected, and he also suffered from a couple of little quirks in Cyanide's Vampire rule system. The game was still close though, and had a few dice gone la's way it could very easily have been a victory for him.
