Season 6 Prediction Thread of Foretelling

Ha. I beat La to it.

Righty ho, seen as Percy has absolutely nothing to do whatsoever this season (apart from supply you with you're favourite mushrooms, of course) he's decided to have a go at predictions.

He can't be any worse at it than he is at Blood Bowl anyway.

nurgle vs orcs Percy says it'll be a brutal bash fest, utter carnage and death with little focus on touchdowns. Then he said it'll be a 3-3 draw.

Vampires vs khorne Percy says it has upset written all over it, the new demons suprising the experienced Vampires (league favourites, surely) with all that frenzy. Then he said 4-1 to the Vampires.

chaos dwarves vs amazons I had to explain to him what a chaos dwarf was. I haven't approached the subject of a bull centaur yet. Anyway, remembering his wife will probably read this Percy says the ladies will win 2-1.

humans vs lizards sorry, Percy went Really Stupid and couldn't give me an answer.

When we get Wylds response I'll ask him to predict the season standings too.

Haha – I thought about this on the way to work and then got bogged down in a load of nonsense. Now I am no longer in the mood for a lengthy feverish cheerful post about it, so: behold:

Match day 1
Nurgle vs Orcs Orcs. It won’t be utter carnage because of all the AV9. Nurgle will have problems with a lack of basic skills.

Vampires vs Khorne Draw. Vampires have 500TV more, but it’s all invested in snacks for the vampires and lots of pricy rerolls.

Chaos dwarves vs Amazons Dwarves. The midgets will get their Tackle out and the women won’t be able to handle it. Worst possible team for Amazon to play.

Male Humans vs Lizards Humans. Experience and basic skills will win the day.

Overall
Orcs – they have the mix of basic skills and strength and coaching.
Chaos Dwarves – they’re like dwarves, but with their weaknesses countered.
Vampires – they’re the most expensive team but still unreliable.
Humans – again, there’s a solid mix of basic skills.
Nurgles – will good coaching make up for lack of skills on players?
Khorne – as above, really, but less defensively solid than Nurgle.
Amazon – good solid team with only one bunch of Tackle to mess them up, probably will be higher than 7th actually.
Lizards – no offence, but it’s a traditional expected position for a complete newcomer.
Tbc – You can’t win without a team, as Ron Atkinson used to say.

Remember the Khorne will be starting the season a player down due to injuries in pre-seaon friendlies. I'm also wondering how many Khorne Heralds I'm going to go thoughr, as I've already sacked two and the season hasn't even started yet.

Nurgle vs Orcs Agree with la, more skills on Orcs will help, however notj alternates between periods of great dice and terrible dice, his last 11 results have been WWWWWWWWWWL so on that basis he should lose :p So I will wimp out and say 1-1.

Vampires vs Khorne - draw
Chaos dwarves vs Amazons - dwarves
Male Humans vs Lizards Humans - humans

Have to agree with la these three, for the same reasons.

Predicting the final table is really hard given all the newness, and I think it will be a lot closer all the way through than last year. Also we have no bottom-tier teams this year. Please don't take offence if you are near the bottom...

Chaos Dwarves – annoying hard-to-knock-over midgets.
Amazon – one of the best TV1000 teams out there.
Vampires – they’re the most expensive team but still unreliable.
Khorne – haven't played them so who knows, let's stick them in the middle.
Nurgles – slow start but to improve later on as skills come online.
Humans – basically here as I had filled the top half of the table up already and I didn't want to put myself too far down the list :p
Orcs – team suffers a consistent freak inability to pick up the ball, and they suffer injuries all the time.
Lizards – newness

I haven't had any practice games (TBH I haven't even set them up yet), and I've got this crazy idea to go for a starting Orc team with 3 goblins in :-)

Percy reckons the more goblins the better NJ, plus as an added free bonus tip he reckons Black Orcs & Blitzers are a waste of money, probably not worth getting any of them.

To be honest, I thought there was something funny about you getting into the cup. But, as it's your last season before you get double-sprogged, I thought I'd let you have your fun.

nurgle vs orcs - This season I can only see it going with the Orcs. Nurgle will be better placed next time out.

Vampires vs khorne - Each team is likely to self harm but I think the Vamps stand a better chance of scoring more before it all goes horribly wrong. Watch out for that big winged bastard though.

chaos dwarves vs amazons - Yes this is a sucky matchup for the Amazons but it was going to come up sooner or later and this way they get it out of the way before masses of guard and mighty blow come into the equation. Beards beat boobs.

humans vs lizards - Got to go wat the Black Stars for this one. Unless Moose is some sort of Blood Bowl savant.
