Great - well, I hope to have both children in bed by 20.15, but 20.30 might be best just to not keep you waiting.

I apologise in advance if some wife/child-related catastrophe occurs and makes this impossible - I'll post on here as soon as possible!

Nothing should occur though.

Okay - 20:30 it is. No worries if you can't make it after all. Should hopefully be a good game.

Does anyone object if I can manage to fit them in early before I go?

OK I've had a look at it. As it stands, you aren't here for week 5, week 6, have no game on week 7 and are due to play me on week 8, when I'm not here. 3 re-arrangements required, and you have to wait until the last game of the season until you play on a Sunday evening with everyone else.

So.... I propose swapping the schedules for week 5 to 6, 6 to 7, and 7 to 5.

That way, you then have a game week 5 (which you can't make), week 6 is your week off, then you can play me on week 7 and someone else on week 8. Only 1 rearrangement required.

EDIT: have decided this plan sucks now because it screws with Rav & notj being away on the same day which they have a workaround in place for already.

Me and La might play this weekend as it's probably the only time both of us can fit it in on a Sunday evening.

Plus it will mean I don't have to have 3 weeks off...

Posting interest in a friendly! Challenging anyone! ...although my preferred opponents are...

I figure the bottom of the ladder is the one that could do with some more SPP and experience. My preferred teams to play are: E.L.O. (least TV, <6 points), Gojira's Army (<6 points), and the Brave Harts (<6 points). Looks like notjarvis and Red Lion seem busy though so mebbe there's only a chance of playing Moose. Or maybe Daigoro's non-sponsored Chaos team, if that's allowed.

For the week I can take an extended lunch to play a game (:P) therefore I'm free on...
Thursday (usual game time, can also accomodate plus or minus one hour)
Friday (usual game time, can also accomodate plus or minus one hour)
Sunday, most likely (usual game time, can also play earlier in the day)

Vampires benefit from massive dice for 2-0 win.

Image

First half the Amazons received, but before they could very strongly cage up a vampire said hello and tried to mark the ballcarrier. Another one soon joined him, and it all kind of went a bit wrong for the Amazons (not before I ran out of time with a bloodlust so couldn't choose a thrall, and lost 1/4 of the vampires on turn 2. Idiot). The Amazons' Guard couldn't make up for the Vampires' ST and the ball was eventually cleared for Socrates to pick it up and run off.

Then the wizard lightning bolted him - rubbishly. The bolt bounced off Socrates' head, and he sauntered off to make it 1-0 in Turn 6. There wasn't time for anything else really to happen that half, so the teams lined up for the second half both with 11 players on the pitch!

Second half the Vampires received, with Socrates doing a bit of crowd pleasing passing in the backfield before sprinting quite slowly up the right hand side of the pitch, which the Vampires slowly cleared, making a nice safe corridor. In Turn 15 Archimedes scored to secure the result.

Then afterwards I saw the dice, which hadn't felt that good for me during the game: The vampires only failed 3 bloodlusts for the second game in a row and I got 15 better dice than RL on both d6 and 2d6, RL barely getting any positive d6. That made it trickier for RedLion than it should have been, I think...

The dice didn't feel too unfair during the game; e.g. several Vampires did get knocked over by risky 1-D Amazon blocks (though they all got straight back up). What seemed at the time to make a big difference were the Iron-Steel-and-Diamond Thralls. In the first half the Zons got two or three off the pitch, but only knocked out; in the second half not a single one left the pitch, and La injured several of the ladies. And to add insult to this injury, by the end all of his knocked out thralls were back standing on the subs bench. The ST 4 thrall was particularly annoying - it took 3 Amazons to get a 2-D block on him, and he kept just getting back up. It was like playing against an extra Vampire.

Next time I think I need to sneak an extra 5 or 6 players onto the pitch.

Oh well. Thanks for the game La!

I thought you were playing Moose on Sunday anyway? In-season friendlies with teams who are playing in the league aren't a hugely common occurrence. Also, extended lunch to play a game?! What sort of a job do you have? Self-employed?

Needed some Bloodweiser Blokes I guess.

We said it would be ok for a couple of the inexperienced guys with new teas to get together this weekend if they fancied to get a bit more experience whilst we were playing on Sunday.....

I don't believe Moose and I had agreed to any challenge, despite whatever Moose may say. I don't mind facing off against you Moose (in fact, you seem the most appropriate challenge), I'm just pointing out I don't think we agreed to any such challenge unless I missed something big.

I believe Gandalf is just scaredy-cat of his future opponents getting some more SPP! I believe the rats are facing Gandalf next, what a coincidence. Raveen and just about everybody was okay with it on last Sunday at ~4:00 PM EST. Shame, shame, shame.https://youtu.be/yy4CN9DVPII?t=1m48s I was only asking because I'll mostly likely be free for a game in the next week, especially on Sunday. If it's in any way an issue I'm willing to withdraw my friendly request. The only reason I'd thrown it out there is because I saw half the teams had participated in at least one friendly before the season.

If it's an issue of lower versus top half of the ladder, rest assured, the rats are more than willing to face off against the top half of the ladder, as was mentioned in the original postr. Isa Black Stars (10 points team!), and any other team, consider yourself given free corpses for SPP! challenged!

Btw Moose I'd like to reiterate that I'm totally down to play against you. Or whoever else. I was just confused.

Sorry guys, I wasn't saying it wasn't allowed, sorry if I gave that impression. I was careful to say "uncommon" rather than "not allowed".... was trying to point out you may not get much response.

The only reason I'd thrown it out there is because I saw half the teams had participated in at least one friendly before the season.

Yeah that's more common, lots of people with new teams (including me) played a few, to get to know the team and to speed up development, as it takes 5+ games until you start getting a reasonable number of level-ups. As ever with rules Rav is the arbiter but in reality it tends to be majority rule.

Percy would just like to say he has no problem with midseason friendlies, he thinks it'll do the newer coaches a world of good.

Percy also understands Gandalfs flanberghastation (yes, Percy made up a word) - it's like BT Sport showing the footy, it's new, it's change, no one likes change.

Percy is also noting the fever that's happening for season 6, and is impressed.

I was happy with it on Sunday, and I'm still happy with it today.

Good film.
