Oh no wait, that's just dinner ;-)

Looking forward to it. RL

Won't be around for friendlies or anything, just popping in to say I hate dwarves and all dorfs should die. :)

Rock-Knockers celebrate cup success with impromptu field trip to the Mountains of Albion

The Chaos Dwarf Blood Bowl team were last night seen packing their hammers into their backpacks and heading off on a cart pulled by Minotaur team-member, Charles Darwin. A spokesdwarf stated that after winning the RT Cup they had earned the opportunity to be cold, wet, miserable and hitting rocks with small hammers.

The game was played behind closed doors due to ongoing sporadic warfare between the two sets of fans that had descended on the Rolling Thunder Stadium to watch the match. The spectacle was transmitted to fans via the LATV CabalVision Network.

The fateful cup match started promptly and the Amazons won the toss. The Ladies decided it was polite to kick to the Chaos Dwarfs and took to the field in defence. The Dwarfs stacked the line of scrimmage and got some solid blocks in with the first Amazon leaving the pitch moments after the whistle was stuffed down the ref's throat by some disgruntled fans who had broken into the ground.

A Hobgoblin secured the ball and the Rock-Knockers advanced to a solid mid pitch position. The Amazons made a brave defence but were unable to stop the Dwarfs from breaking through as many were knocked out in the ruckus and needed a lie down. The Dwarfs slowly pushed round the Brave Harts and scored a Touchdown with moments left on the clock.

The Dwarfs kicked to the Amazons who just lashed out in the final moments of the half.

Half Time - 1-0 to the Rock-Knockers

In the second half the Rock-Knockers sent the ball sailing over the line to land in the middle of the Amazons territory. The Brave Harts picked up and feinted left before switching the play to the right and sprinting down the pitch. The Chaos Dwarfs were slow to respond to the switch in play but were just able to get to the ball carrying Amazon and slow her down enough to get the ball free. A fumbled catch by a bull centaur allowed the Brave Harts to break again and the Dwarfs were once again sprinting as fast as they could to prevent a touchdown. Unfortunately the Amazons were getting hammered by repeated blocks now and the ladies were leaving the pitch in droves.

The Rock-Knockers grabbed the ball and tried to pass it to waiting Bull Centaur, Charles Lyell who couldn't keep a hold of it. In the last moments he tried to grab the loose ball but failed that too closing the game out at 1-0 to the Rock-Knockers.

It was a fun game for me at least and the crowd seemed appreciative (although I think we all sympathised with RL in the second half as his team melted under the pressure of the Dwarf onslaught). I think that RL should have opted to receive and try to score a slow TD and then defend the rest of the 1st half rather than kicking. The Dwarfs were always going to win the war of attrition so make the best use of the team whilst you've got them. But it was always going to be a horrible matchup for the Amazons and it went pretty much as you would expect.

Congratulations, Rav! Going out as comish with a bang! :)

Congrats as well to RL3 for going so far! I was rooting for you, but fate decided to reward Raveen instead because of the many, many sleepless nights he's about to have.
