I gave him a poke this morning and he promised to sign up later. I made sure he knew about the Wednesday deadline.

Go on then I'll go Dark Elves. As I haven't tried Elves at all (in SP or against people)

Haven't picked a team cos I thought there was gonna be a break in between the cup final and season 7. Wednesday's the deadline? I'll have it in then.

What are the Hambridge Archers? Halflings? Or mebbe pro elves? Couldn't find them on BBM.

I suggest our Master Team post be updated with the races. :]

edit: oops, seems like Daigoro's made just the post I was hoping for

Abom I think you should take Skaven again so that I don't feel bad about not playing them this season I mean because you've got them developing and must be getting used to them.

I would love to play Skaven next season, but not yet.

Goodness me, there's an entire week between the final and season 7!! That should be enough of a break!!/!!!!!!1

I actually had to open up BBM earlier to see whether you had elected to play your Underworld or your Skaven team. :P

I'd normally take issue with a lack of a break, but I think it's fine since our season and cup is so short anyway. If we ever move firmly into 10+ player territory, perhaps we should have a season where we play each other twice, or a cup where's it's best 2 out of 3, to make results less swingy and more decisive. If you think this is too sane, bear in mind that this is coming from the guy who proposed a no-team-reroll season, so... >_> <_< :D

I'm leaning Skaven just so I can put Grab on a Stormvermin and prove my theory! My other, less likely leanings are: elves, gobbos, or an all snotling team.

I think you should go all Snotling personally.

I don't know if the world is ready yet for such greatness.

"Bad for Thine Elf", A team of disaffected Doctors and Medics filled with rage at working in the Crumbling National Elf Service under the Tyrannical rule of the Clansby and the Brunt, will decide to take out their frustrations on the Blood Bowl field.

(I thought of the punny name first, and they are all going to be named after Fictional doctors basically)

P.s. I played one game with DEs versus the PC yesterday, which wasn't too successful (I won 2-0 but only due to the Computer being stupid)

A Blitzer got killed in the second turn, and I have no idea how to defend without the ability to put a bunch of ST4 and 5 players in your face.

What build did you go for? I would advocate 3 Blitzers, 1 WE and 2 RRs with the rest Lineelves. It's probably not quite as good as 4 Blitzers but it's more fun IMO.

Tactically you need to back off an advancing enemy and allow them their blitz alone. Getting dodge on everyone will help this but it's not essential because Ag 4 is clearly cheating. The trick is to pick your moment to break into the cage, wait for a weakness and storm in - frenzy on the WE is ideal to help here although without Block it's by no means a certainty (Block or Wrestle or Juggernaut are essential on the Witches).

On attack you want to play a flowing running game, a bit like slow Skaven or weak Orcs. Don't try to pass too often, at least not the sort of long passes that other Elves can make use of.

The Runner is entirely optional IMO. His starting skills don't help in the early days and you gain movement at the expense of armour. A developed Runner could be an asset but on a fresh team, it's not essential.

Don't buy an Assassin. Ever. Induce one if you must.

I did some experiments with Dark Elves too.

Definitely only ever induce an Assassin if you want one. Stab doesn't earn any SPPs and that's about all you want one for, so their not going to level up anyway.

I preferred the four blitzers to the Bitch Elf. I found the extra block was more useful to me, as was the runner.

But what do I know? I only played a handful of games with them.

It doesn't matter what he picks, they are all elves, and all filthy (if slightly less filthy because the are weirdo bondage pervs) and will all get massacred by Leroy & Co.

Yup, elfy defences is usually "run away" as Rav says. Sometimes some teams put st2 or st3 guys on the front line who you can have a bash at, especially if you are more levelled up then they are.

Will be nice to see you in a team without ST4! I think it's good to give different types of team a run-out, it's a good challenge and also helps you to "know your enemy".

On the Assassin.

The Stab skill seems pretty useless. Chances of breaking armour are fairly low except when against the Punier teams, and when you are against Puny Teams you are generally able to compete on strength terms so the block is a better bet.

Could potentially see a use if you can stab the ball handler in a cage (able to ignore the tackle Zones pretty much) but the chances of success are generally so low that it hardly seems worthwhile.
