Uploading matches

Postby Gandalf » Tue Sep 29, 2015 12:39 pm

Starting with season 7 I would like people to upload all their league matches to my website, for future processing.

The link is http://31.216.48.18/~gandalfgames/bbdb/upload.php THOUGH IT IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE IN THE NEXT FEW WEEKS SO PLEASE CHECK THIS PAGE!!

The password is Palmtree as usual (just there to stop bots trying to upload random stuff to my website).

You will need to upload 3 files. The replay file is in c:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\Documents\BloodBowlLegendary\Saves\Replay and the other files are two levels up, in c:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\Documents\BloodBowlLegendary. Obviously if you have the Chaos Edition of the game it will be in a different folder again.

Hopefully the other things on the form are straightforward enough but if you have questions do ask away.

The upload process is robust-ish, but not perfect yet, and nor is it that pretty. After you click submit you will either get an error message or it will sit there thinking for 2-3 seconds, please let it wait that period of time else unpredictable things may happen. Once it is done you will get a message telling you it has completed (or saying "lol I don't transform data yet" or something like that).

If you have any questions or issues with uploading then please post them here. Thanks!

What does submitted in Cyanide mean?

I think he means BBM.

Do I just do a computer thing?

"Submitted in cyanide" - if a game crashes but you want to upload it anyway, untick this, then the website will (when it is coded to do so) recognize this. This will mean that match won't be included in the overall player's stats... so the player's stats will still match up with cyanide's view.

Do I just do a computer thing?

Need a daigaro->English translation...

Oh – very important to note – these (log/sql) files MUST be uploaded before you RESTART Bloodbowl.

Otherwise they VANISH FOREVER.

So ideally do immediately the game is finished.

Can you recreate them by watching the replay through again?

Yes I think so. Might be worth testing the output is exactly the same though.

I can confirm that you can replay older games and then upload them, just as in BBM, and everything still works fine.

Interestingly if you try and upload a file with an apostraphe in it, you get a 403 error, as I found when I tried to upload a game that had "Gojira's army" in the name of the file. Just rename it and then its fine.

I've finally properly fixed the "non-numeric entry detected" bug :D So uploading should go a lot smoother now.
