I bought the premium beta, and I have to say, even with all the complaints I have had - Still have had more than $150 worth of enjoyment.

It does sound like that. I'm a little upset about it (not a problem for me, but I don't like such tactics).

Everyone who owns Season One and Horizons will get access to the Cobra Mk. 4 no matter where you bought your copy.

Ok, right. They are just being confusing as per usual. Honestly I hope it's not a free ship even, just something that's added to the game with Horizons, and strangely unavailable on the market for those who don't get the expansion.

I'm not sure what the plan is.

Took the Scout bounty hunting in a RES last night and after a minor incident involving an asteroid and a cloning procedure I raked in a fun €0.5M in about half an hour.

I have the free pulse lasers and two non gimbled medium multi-cannons, which seem to work quite nicely, but I'm keen to try out some other weapons. This ship is definitely nimble, although I'm not sure I'd be confident going up against a wing by myself yet. Perhaps after a few upgrades, or if I can get the hang of silent running combat.

I'm also not sure it has a better jump range than my Cobra...

So, after a bit of trading to rank up my trade rank, I got my promotion to Lord. Obviously that's just a stepping stone to Baron. I parked the Type 7 (lots of modules on that ship that I want to keep hold of...) and started doing missions in my Courier (that's a lovely ship btw). I've found that Aymifa is a good system to rank up in. If you go to Polya Colosseum there are lots of donate money or food missions that you can complete instantly. So I now have my progression mission to take me to Baron available.

Once I have my Clipper I'll trade in the T7 after stripping it for parts and see how much cash I've got to kit out the glorious new vessel. I'm hoping to be able to manage B rating on most systems. Although I'll see how much trade cash that leaves me with.

I have joined a group.. they spotted me passing through and invited me to join them. I've spent quite a while looking for people to run with so we'll see how this goes. They seem to be very proactive with training, faction alliance etc. http://triadius.net/
They opened up a rather large portion of the game I've not so much as looked at. Anyhow, I have been saving the pennies and considering a ship upgrade. Several people in this group have recommended the Vulture. I have enough monies to totally deck it out. Any thoughts on this ship? I have only flown the Cobra and the starter ship.

Sindertone, for a solid combat ship it's hard to go wrong with a Vulture. It's power management is.... challenging, but it's very, very powerful. The Diamondback Scout is a good, if "lower tier" combat ship as well.

I now have a clipper, thanks to Adept tipping me off on where to get one both discounted and without a rank requirement.

Now I just need to outfit the thing...

I actually went and picked up an Imp Courier myself. Strange beastie.
