Ok, having got this far it seems that Gandalf is going to produce a tool that at worst works and at best is better than BBM.

Looking forward I'd like to ask the question of where do we go with this (and by we I mostly mean Gandalf ). If it works and is easy then I'd like to propose we share it with the community at large. And a good way to do that would be to offer it to the NAF.

I see it being like the OBBLM software, that you can either have a NAF hosted league or download the software and install it on your own server. The advantage of all this is that we might be able to get the NAF to help with cosmetic design once the tool is further down the development route (if help there would be appreciated, I've always got the impression that design isn't Gandalf's strong point but would happily be corrected).

Whilst I wouldn't object, I think it's Gandalf's baby, so he gets to make that call.

We're just lucky that he's made it for us.

You're quite correct on this point. I could probably learn it, but it doesn't interest me in the same way that making sense of and organizing lots of data does.

I think others here could help with the design and graphics, at some point. id3 has mentioned that he could help in the past, and I know RL3 has some graphics skills, maybe to create something like BBM's match report images for example. No pressure or obligation though, of course.

Sharing it with the world is something that could happen, but not for some time yet, it needs to be a lot more polished (from an operational POV if not a design one), and ideally have clear advantages over existing solutions too. Maybe next year...
