Season 7 Predictions Thread

Postby Gandalf » Sat Oct 03, 2015 12:09 pm

So quick on the heels of season 6 comes.... season 7! Brand new and yet keeping many similarities with season 6, for example, it's still about playing Blood Bowl.

I have set up a spreadhseet to keep track of the predictions -> https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... sp=sharing

So make sure to post who you think is going to win each match here, and any other crazy guesses about the season to come.

Raveen's FC vs. Hambridge Archers - The new guys vs. the halflings! Normally I'd predict the new guy to lose, but these are halfings we're talking about. But I'll predict the new guy to loose anyway.

A Fistful of Boomstick vs. The Brave Harts - A new undead team against the cup runners-up Amazon team. I'm going for Red Lion 3 in this one.

The 13th Doomwheel vs. The Orkly Ducklingz - two returning season 6 teams... dodgy skaven against bashy orcs. A classic clash of styles. I'll sit on the fence and call it a draw.

The Mighty Undercheesers vs. notdarkelves - will there be any dark elves in this game? Who knows? Undercheesers to win due to familiarity with the team.

Fables! vs. Everglade Wanderers - Two Season 4 teams return. I've looked at the Fables team and I think this is the best point for me to be playing them, as they have 1 tackle and no mighty blow, and claw doesn't do anything to me. Should be an open game with lots of fast players on show. I'll go for a Wood Elf win.

Yes... Halflings, amazons, Orcs, elves, elves.

I may add reasoning if I get on the computer before the games :)

Raveen's FC vs. Hambridge Archers - I don't recall reading what team Raveen's FC actually is and it seems yet to have reached Percy's review system. Experience to win 2-0?

A Fistful of Boomstick vs. The Brave Harts - Despite the large injury count from the over-friendly chaos dwarves last week, the Brave Harts still have a fairly well stocked roster of which 13 are able to play. The ST 5 mummies could cause problems... but there are no pesky skinks on this side to run rings around me. Phew!! 2-0 Harts maybe?

The 13th Doomwheel vs. The Orkly Ducklingz - The Skaven have little block, but the Orcs have little tackle. So the Skaven should be able to score quickly if they can get the ball, and the Orks score slowly in reply. Skaven to score twice and somehow keep the Orks from getting a second, 2-1.

The Mighty Undercheesers vs. notdarkelves -The Undercheesers have about a billion skills between them; notdarkelves are currently a team of mystery. Undercheesers 2-0?

Oooff, Red Lion is that offended by the new Commish's cock up on the schedule that he hasn't even bothered to predict a result for his game!!!

Percy reckons that's a Grudge in the making if ever he saw one...

But, Percy said he's too busy training to get match fit for the opening weekend to do any predictions, so Leroy is doing them instead.

They may be somewhat minimal elaboration:

Raveen's FC vs. Hambridge Archers Who Vs midgets? hope tree kills. midgets win.

A Fistful of Boomstick vs. The Brave Harts young coach with new team Vs posh wumen... hope toilet paper man kills, but wumen win.

The Mighty Undercheesers vs. notdarkelves Hohohoho, had many a good 'shroom sesh with Bowie but should not be friends with shamegoblins. Hope Bowie kills. Bowie win.

Feebles! vs. Everglade Wanderers Hopes treelickers stay alive so Leroy mangle them all himself!!! Hope Fleadogs claim trees, but pointies win.

The 13th Doomwheel vs. The Orkly Ducklingz Leroy pumped for this. Leroy hate gutterlickers. Leroy KILL gutterlickers. LLEEERRROOY KILLLLL GUTTERLICKERSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, I saw PilOrc discard a screwed up rizla with a flick of the wrist over his head that rolled along a handrail, looped off the end and swish gently into a bin. Obviously I went to get it to sell on eBay as memorabilia touched by the Great One, but I unfurled it and noticed it had this written on it:

I Predict Therefore I Will Know (the Season 7 final standings):

1) Nevermade Flounderers. Those filthy tree elves that would give anything to have me on their team; with me victory would be a certainty, without they may just scrape the title.

2) ShameGoblins&Bowie. Ah, it takes a man of genius and maturity with a World Class tactical brain to appreciate ones enemy full of fallen brothers who have succumb to their darkest inner desires, but at least they funnel their cheeselove onto the field. We may yet destroy them, but the Cheese is strong with them.

3) The Ducklingz. I fear this is as far as I can carry my brethren. For all their brute power and dedication to making me great, perhaps only a few can come anywhere near my greatness on the field. And although my faithful Percy would sacrifice himself on a bed of mushrooms for me, we do have to carry him through the match. I return just for his passion. "Being part of a team that belongs to me makes me feel good. A lot of the time, it’s better than sex: it lasts longer and if it falls flat, it can’t just be your fault… Much better to be a soldier on the pitch than in the bedroom.” (Editor's note - I'm pretty sure this is straight from his autobiography again).

4) Brave Farts. Those strange ladies that feel they belong on the Blood Bowl pitch rather than the bedroom or the kitchen. I pity them, as I pity their opponents.

5) Grotjarvis did not have the best season with fellow greenskins last season, but then again he was always going to struggle without a player like me, who wouldn't? I feel for him that his loss has made him plummet to the depths of decency and pick some filthy pointy ears.

6) Feebles! It's cute that they try to play God's gracious game, but perhaps they would be better suited to sticking to the travelling pantomime show or even half time entertainment?

7) 13th SpoonOrdeal. I'm concerned that my hatred for pointy ears has somewhat made me blind to gutterlickers; who are most likely as vulgar and an affront to Nuffle as anything with AG4 can get. May Leroy badtouch them all.

8 ) Paw full of Damp Fuse. May the Moose not get too distracted by my glory this season and focus on his own game plan. I understand how hard that will be though, and the distraction may be too much for him to learn the inner workings of his team of 2nd hand players.

9) Hambridge Fodder. Isn't it cute they actually let children play? It's always nice to see Mandela, Leroy, Jamal and Fela Kuti play with smiles on their faces as they rip the poor little fellows limb from limb whist I slowly amble up the pitch to my home in the endzone.

10) How can you predict anything for a certain unknown?

Wow. What a guy.

Hmmm, a good pair of eyes.

Fables! vs. Everglade Wanderers - Well, it depends a bit on how effective the inducements are... GandElf to win 3-1.

Pff. Armoured super elves vs, as daigaro rightly puts it, a bunch of shamegoblins led by a crippled troll and coached by a human so tired he just fell asleep whilst eating a sandwich? Not for me Clive. 2-0 to the elves.

What's a natch?

Regarding your match, I will upgrade the spreadsheet to automatically put you down as predicting yourself to lose every game.

With the late change of fixtures, it was assumed that everyone would predict the Wood Elves to beat the Halflings.

I have updated the spreadsheet. Everyone got 2 or 3 right. Should I post weekly summaries here or is the spreadsheet sufficient? It tells you everyone's totals, and their current rank.

Getting in early...

Fables! - Orkly Ducklingz... All hail our new commissioner, may he go forth and smite his opponents!

Boomstick - Thine Elf... Two fresh teams playing each other. It could go either way. I say it goes no way and finished a draw.

Doomwheel - Everglades... I predict many touchdowns. Many many touchdowns. But with more for the Wood Elves.

Undercheesers - Archers... The Underworld's superior skills to count for more than the inducements the 'flings will get. POSTPONED DUE TO BABIES

So, I’m all up in a radge with work so here are some predictions.

The Brave Harts vs Bad For Thy Elf
League leaders vs brand new team. Probably 1-1. A draw in any case.

Fables! vs Everglade Wanderers
Elves to win 3-1.

A Fistful of Boomstick vs Hambridge Archers
Brand new team vs halflings. Probably undead to win 2-1 but appalling losses all round. Hopefully.

The 13th Doomwheel vs The Mighty Undercheesers
Proper rats vs disappointing rats. Rats who can score more than once a game vs rats who can’t. Rats with gutter runners (bless them) vs rats with goblins. What kind of idiot would even think of that? It’s like saying, you know what’s good about Wood Elves? The Wood Elves. So why don’t we replace them with goblins. Two treemen and a bunch of bloody goblins who fall apart whenever an Amazon’s hair wisps past them slightly too hard. Or, I don’t know, you know what’s good about league favourites Necromantics? All the players that aren’t goblins, that’s what, so let’s replace the entire team with goblins, except for one of them, who we can replace with a crippled troll who spends a great deal of timing standing about staring into space like a perverted eejit thinking about that time he managed to touch a passing Amazon with his shoulderdong, or perhaps that time Morg punched him over and he landed face first in a pile of rotting stilton, or maybe that one time regeneration actually worked. Soon as he’s touched a few proper rats with his shouldermonstrosity Bowie’s getting the bloody sack. Eejit. 3-1 to the Skaven.

Sounds like La's sulking because he can't cheat with Vampires this season, or his shamegoblins aren't cheating hard enough yet.

Just as well the Ducklingz have the week off, more time to assess PirlOrc's injury. Apparently he's regained consciousness now. Still at the morphineShrooms HARD though.

Anyway, Percy says Amazon/DarkElf draw, WoodElves beat the TeamWhosNameShalNotBeMentioned, Undead/Halfling draw, ShameGobbos beat Gutterlickers.
