I think Wednesday should be okay? As far as I know, anyway.

Cripes Abom, just upload the game already, it's been so long now. It's a 60-second job to do. Did you know that even opening the client can result in you losing the files you need to upload, meaning you'll have to watch the game again?

Congrats to id3! I hope all is going well. :)

The Enth's winning streak comes to an end with Percy distracted by scantily clad women.

http://gandalfgames.net/bbdb/matchdetai ... tch_id=213

The 'Zons receive first, and a gentle not much blocking but lots of standing in the right places happens as the Fats gentle move forward trying to make some space. After a fair bit of positioning the Fats ball carrier puts herself on the sidelines, and Colorado River Toad obliges her by pushing her of the pitch. The ball almost falls nicely for the Enths but they can't escape and the Fats roll one of many 'need that dice result' dice rolls to stop the turnover score. 0-0 halftime.

2nd half the Enth's get a cracking start and clear the Fat's LoS to the KO bin; strolling down the flanks to not stall and score in turn 13.

Fat's set up outnumbered, and even with 4 possible receivers double marked manage an impressive dice frenzy to clear space, hand off, dodge, pass, somersault, skip, blow kisses to the cameras and sprint over the line, leaving Khorne 2 turns to try push for the winner.

A terribly short high kick gives the Enth's hope, with Salema the Hallucinogenic Fish gathering the ball on the half way line. space is made, as many enemy as possible are marked and the Enths sit back to see if the Fats silly dice continue... they do, yet more 'need that dice roll to do this' happens, the ball goes free, scatters off the pitch and gets thrown back into the only part of the field that suits the Fats and not the Enths, right by a well positioned 'just in case' catcher for the Fats. The Enths with the numbers advantage and frenzy cant get anyone free (blasted dodging gits) and a last ditch dodge to cover the ball fails, with the failed dodge-ee rightly casualtying himself off the pitch in shame.

The Fats can't believe their luck, they gather ball, smile and wave to the cameras who are already writing the headlines of how the 'zons stole a win... the zon player is already preparing her post match speech... and then double 1's in the endzone, with Nuffle throwing just a bit back to the Enth's to end the match 1-1.

Can't say it was an enjoyable game, Percy's let the high altitude top-of-the-table air get to him too much. The Fats had an incredible run of dice for the score and almost-winner, but in truth the Enth's probably over committed on both plays, allowing the Fats to try and get the dice rolls in the first place.

Well played Idan :)

Nurgle vs Undead! http://gandalfgames.net/bbdb/matchdetai ... tch_id=214

First game

A riot happens! 2 or 3 Nurgle players are stunned, along with.... 9 undead! The undead are receiving therefore their first turn consisted entirely of moving the only 2 players standing to guard the ball (at least they were mummies). Soon their luck turns and they get 2 Nurgle off the pitch, whilst one undead goes for a lie-down. The undead pick up the ball and it's all intriguingly set... then Gandalf's internet dies on turn 4. So we go again.

Second game - first half

Undead receive again. They pick it up, get smashed around a bit and decide rather than a stodgy blockfest they will try and run the ball up the sideline.... which remarkably works! Just as remarkably, the only player who could catch the wight manages to make a couple of dodges and a GFI, knocks him over, and the ball lands in the middle of some Nurgle players. However it's not in the tackle zone of any of them, so the undead pick it up, albeit now surrounded. The ghoul in question decides that what is in front of him is scarier than what is behind him, so runs backwards and sidewards then tries a risky (but totally legit) handoff which fails. Nurgle hit some more people, manage to pick it up, and aided by a mummy failing a 2d block, run it in for a T8 touchdown.

Second half

It's now 10 undead (only 1 mummy now) against 11 Nurgle, who are receiving. Bash bash bash, there's a big hole, 2d against block on ball carrier doesn't work, Nurgle do a 2+ 2+ quick pass, run in and score once there is no-one left to hit.

With 3 turns left the undead try some desperate stuff to get a TD back. RL3 earns points for ballsy plays, there was even a pass in there. However it doesn't work and come the Nurgle last turn if I can pick it up make a 3+3+ pass and a GFI I can score, for what would be the first time ever It's A Sign score three in a match! It all works up until the GFI, which fails, and the rotter in question is killed in the process! 3 of my players killed in 4 games now, aieeeee. Game finishes 2-0 to the undead.

Post game

MVP's go to an unskilled rotter and a wight. No level ups for either team. Undead injuries are only badly hurt so they will be up and about for their next match. It was a tough game for them, being relatively unskilled, against all the high-strength opposition (with block). The skills they do have are mostly block, which doesn't achieve too much when up against block. I'm sure they will get off the mark soon. Thanks for the game RL3. A bit more luck in certain places and it could've worked out for you.

I rolled 72 blocks which yielded 31 armour rolls, 18 injury rolls and only 2 casualties. There's going to be someone I play this season when I get good injury rolls. I feel sorry for that team...

Boy, running plays were a disaster in both games yesterday. The Zons double-1'd in the endzone, Gandalf's player died GFI'ing on the line, all three Plaice running plays ended with the ball carrier getting put on the deck or off the pitch...

The pitch invasion to initiate the Undead-Nurgle false-start game was particularly special. Has anyone had more than 9/11 of their players floored before now, or is that a league record?

I looked up the rules and ran the numbers on this. I had much more FAME than you so your players would go down on a 4+, and mine on a 6+. I think I had 2 players get stunned, which is the most likely number. The expected value for your team would've been 5.5 (ie, every player was 50-50). For you to have 9 or more go off is odds of 3.27%. I thought it would've been less likely than that. It was still quite a sight to behold though.

I think the most unlikely kickoff event I've ever seen was when the Wanderers played Abom's Skaven and I had think 5 or 6 players go off due to sweltering heat (ie, rolled a 1 on a D6). I can't quite remember how many it was now. Numbers for the chances of that...
5 players : 2.45%
6 players : 0.45%
7 players : 0.06%

Compounded by the fact he has 0-2 players go off.

Still okay for this evening abom? I should have finished putting the children to bed by 20.15 UK time. I stayed up far too late and bought a beer for special preparations so beware some top top expert play.

Yep! I even logged on earlier and checked out what team you were! The goblins will not walk into this one blind! Although they will trip over each other and lose a lot of blood.

Well I'll try and see if I can do a full report tomorrow, but an expectedly crazy game ended 4-0 to the Vampires. It's not really fair on goblins to give their enemy two blitzes in a row, is it.

http://gandalfgames.net/bbdb/matchdetai ... tch_id=217

Some highlights:

Aristotle catching a bomb and KOing the bomber with it
Fireball missed everyone, including bouncing off Aristotle's head (he survived a lightning bolt against ID)
Trolls failing to throw teammates all game, until they managed to Seriously Concuss a gobbo in about turn 15...
Me wondering out of the corner of my eye why the cat was so excited playing with his dead mouse toy this evening, wait, it didn't have feathers before... or blood... oh, bugger.

Some highlights from the gobbos' side:

the goblin Pyromancer being on strike, 2 consecutive kick-off blitzes for the vampires, bribes failing, Something like 7+ turns of the game spent trying to throw a goblin but always failing at the last second, 2-3 successful bomb attempts heating the ball up to a toasty 150 degrees, Pudge mistakes Enigma (the star Side Step goblin of the game vs Idan) for a stout beer at the very end and eats him

Gobbos injured one of their stars with -1 armor, injured a rookie with -1 armor, ate their Side Step gobbo and got no levelups. A severe setback to be sure, but at least Pudge's belly is full.

So.... are we actually having 4 games this Sunday?! We'll suddenly be 2 games from the end after this weekend, it all seems to have gone so quick, guess that's what happens with 2 less teams in the league.

We're all up to date now, apart from id3-Raveen.

Cool, I'm not sure what my plan is for this weekend. I have relatives visiting, and it may well be my second day with Violet home so we'll have to play it by ear...
