What are you playing?

Tried WarThunder but god the controls are awful compared to either RL flying or at least IL2-Sturmovik... unless I'm missing something? (really imprecise aim with mouse, and joystick does not feel that responsive..)

Did you try World of Warplanes yet? I'd be interested in hearing how you feel it compares to WarThunder.

Re: What are you playing?
I'm quite curious now nj, but I'm also very low on free time at the moment
gift it to somebody who can get into it. I'll get it later, I suspect.

Re: What are you playing?
I'm hooked on natural selection 2, in many ways it reminds me so much of allegiance that i wonder if some of the devs didn't play it before.
Still, it's a twitch based game and I'm not that hot at these. But the difficulty only adds to excitement, no
?
If any of you guys would like to play ns2 with me, let me know.

Re: What are you playing?
NS2 is a bit meh for me tbh... atm I am primarily playing bits and pieces, Tribes 3, Planetside2 (I hate it so much...), some single-player games
Re: What are you playing?
I recently installed planetside 2 and tribes: ascend. Both games felt completely soulless to me, which is sad, because I absolutely loved tribes:vengeance. I'm also playing some LoL here and there, but it's on EuEast. Somehow I managed to get to gold III, woe is me.
Re: What are you playing?
I quite like just goofing of in TribesA, on some of the maps you can do quite silly stuff, otherwise I don't think there are any really deep games, even NS2 doesn't quite do it..
Re: What are you playing?
Tribes: Ascend has a hilarious Allegiance feel to it. The way you need to constantly be changing your vector, and how speed is life. It doesn't feel like infantry combat, it's interceptor jockeying.

Re: What are you playing?
Been playing Terraria, thinking of getting Starbound.
Also might get back into Master of Orion 2, Civ 4, or Civ 5 for a few weeks. Fall From Heaven 2 (Civ 4 mod) is still the closest anyone's ever been to a Master of Magic successor, imo. The guy from that mod is working with Stardock now (GalCiv)... maybe we'll see some good things!
Also, hello!

Re: What are you playing?
Ahh Dominions... the game I've always avoided getting into since each faction/race is deserving of its own manual.
Do you know if there's any major differences between Dominions 3 and 4? I've tried a bit of 3... 4 just looks like an even more complex game! Not that I'm complaining.
I ended up trying out Endless Space instead of Civ. It's enjoyable, reminds me of Master of Orion 1 and Gal Civ mixed together.

Re: What are you playing?
someone recently asked me to compare World of Warplanes with War Thunder, and I was slightly in favor of War Thunder based on what I've read about both of them on various boards. I've played and greatly enjoyed war thunder, untill the last patch.
before the last patch there were 20 tiers, and games were pretty balanced, with skill being the determining factor.
now there are just 5 tiers and 2-3 levels in each tier, and there are few OP planes that dominate each game. they do have their weak spots, but it's not rock, paper, scissors system, it's more like howitzers and gatling guns vs masses of linded and crippled peons vs an occasional sniper.
the sniper has a chance of taking down gatling howitzer position, if he gets it just right, but the peons are fucked no matter what.
I liked dive bombers and attack planes (figs in alleg) more than dogfights (ints), and I was quite good in them (more often than not ending a game with most ground kills in a match), but since the last patch I can barely reach their forwatd ground positions, and even if I do i'm shot down before I can make a loop for a second pass.
so I'm downloading world of warplanes now, let's see how that goes.

It has many tweaks to lessen the micro needed, and to avoid some cheesy powergaming options. It sounds really good. If you end up gettng the game, maybe we can get a multiplayer game going.
Dom4 also has a teamplay mode, which I'm quite looking forward to.
