The fun side of this is your team evolves organically and you have to make use of what you get rather than picking carbon copy teams of the best way to do it.
Add this to the fact that SP is too easy (I got my Necro team to the Blood Bowl without losing a single game and only drawing 2) and there's a recipe for fun! Here's my proposed rules:
- On a normal skill up pick 6 skills from a category available to that player and roll a D6 to determine which skill to take.
- On a doubles roll the coach may pick a skill from any category like they normally would, even if they choose to pick from a category normally available to that player.
- On a stat up the coach may choose the stat or carry on using the rules above.
- If a player reaches their final skill they can pick a skill from the normally available categories (unless a double or stat up is rolled in which case they can choose from those)
Might be fun and make for a more realistic challenge.
