Fun

Postby id3nt1ty » Sat Nov 24, 2012 10:07 pm

The most fun I've had so far playing PS2 was during the beta when there were about 5 or 6 of us running around in a squad. I'd love to play with a big group of you all, so maybe we should try an organise an evening in the week when we can get together and properly play in a squad.

I've played a few times with a PU squad in the BETA and those moments are the best, when everybody is working to a common goal. Even better is when you form a platoon (which is multiple squads working under a platoon leader) and each squad gets a different objective but stays rougly in the same location to reinforce if needed.

So yeah, lets have a sunday game together just to show how fun it really is.

I can't fly in this MMOs. the Flight model is just too weird.
Also, I prefer long-range sniper role, but with the maximum scope equipped I'm quite unsuitable for anything mid-to-close range. That's because I'm not good in the twitch-chaos of close combat in FPSs. Except when I get to cloak and stab people in the back. I managed to kill three people in their base before being taken down that way.
The long range let's me choose my position and my targets. The downside is that in this game it's really easy to be in some kind of vehicle - and I can't do shit to vehicles. That, and when the enemy starts swarming the base and gets inside I suddenly lack the wide open spaces that I prefer them to move on. >.<

So far my best performance is when attacking a small outpost/base. I think I got at least 9 kills before I died that one time, mostly sniping down enemy snipers and providing long range support to the more expendable elements of our ground forces. :P

My problem is - I can run the game fine, but if I run mumble too my comp starts overheating. :/

If you're with us in a squad you can use the in-game voice chat. Check the key bindings for the right keys :P. You may lose some conversation though :(.

Let's decide on a squad game time. A typical Allegiance SG turnout barely fills an APC in Ps2, but it's still much better than playing in ones and twos.

Alleg SG time is bad for me, as in Finland it's 10PM on sunday  :-[

How about we make a regular Schedule where people can come or not ? We need a Squadleader for PS2 !

I could think of something like this:
Sunday 5pm to 10pm german time (MEZ+1 i think)

I'm totally up for it! Although this month I won't be playing much: I've got an exam next week and during Christmas I won't have my big computer. In January however it'll be time to kick ass :D.

Sunday afternoon seems about right, specially with a big time window. We have to arrange however a fix starting time when most people can attend, so we can have the fun started.

I'd love to have a time when we do a drop or insertion en masse. Trickling in and out is ok, but for s SG like experience we really should group up, and coordinate.

10+ ppl can capture facilities on their own, or engage in massed ground & air operations.
